American classical pianist Garrick Ohlsson takes to the online IDAGIO Global Concert Hall for the first time to live-stream and all-Chopin recital from San Francisco Conservatory this Saturday, August 29 at 8:00pm PT (11pm ET). The video will subsequently be available on for viewing demand until 10:00pm PDT, September 5, 2020.
The 55-minute program celebrates the 50th anniversary of Ohlsson’s top prize win at the 1970 International Chopin Piano Competition in Warsaw – the first American to receive this accolade – which launched his distinguished international career.
Ohlsson will perform he following repertoire:
- Chopin: Nocturne in F major op. 15/1 B. 55
Chopin: Nocturne in B major op. 9/3 B.54
Chopin: Barcarolle in F sharp major op. 60 B. 158
Chopin: Mazurka in A minor op. 7/2 B. 61
Chopin: Mazurka in C sharp minor op. 50/3 B.145
Chopin: Sonata for Piano No. 3 in B minor op. 58 B. 155
Following the performance will be a live 20-minute Q&A session where online viewers can submit questions in realtime by selecting the Q&A icon in the top right corner of the video.
