ATLANTA, GA— After a 20-21 season of virtual programming due to pandemic conditions, the Schwartz Center for Performing Arts at Emory University announced on Thursday afternoon the return of the Candler Concert Series to Emerson Concert Hall with the anticipation of live performances.
“While I’m delighted we’ve been able to continue our commitment to the presentation of performing arts over the past year through the Schwartz Center virtual stage, I am thrilled and hopeful for a return to in-person performances,” says Schwartz Center Managing Director Rachael Brightwell. “There is simply nothing like the impact of experiencing these phenomenal artists live, in the moment.”
Tickets will go on sale in August. However, the timing of the Schwartz Center’s actual reopening is still evolving, dependent upon final details from Emory University regarding visitors coming to events this fall. Updates on the status will be provided online at schwartz.emory.edu.
The 2021–2022 lineup features a mix of classical, crossover and jazz in the Series’ seven scheduled performances. Here’s what the Candler Concert Series has planned:
