Guest conductor JoAnn Falletta took the helm of the Omaha Symphony Orchestra this past weekend to lead a concert of music by Berlioz, Tchaikovsky, and Respighi. The program opened with Berlioz’s festive Roman Carnival Overture. The young Canadian violinist and rising star Blake Pouliot joined the orchestra for Tchaikovsky’s Violin Concerto. The second half of the program was a Respighi double feature, featuring two of the three symphonic that make up the composer’s Roman Trilogy: Fountains of Rome and Pines of Rome.

In the following video, traveling critic William Ford reviews Friday’s concert by the Omaha Symphony Orchestra.
