Atlanta Symphony Orchestra announces Brahms-focused 2026–27 Delta Classical season

EarRelevant Staff | 3 MAR 2026

ATLANTA, Georgia— The Atlanta Symphony Orchestra has announced its 2026–27 Delta Classical Series, outlining an 82nd season built around the music of Johannes Brahms and continuing the tenure of music director Nathalie Stutzmann.

The season, Stutzmann’s fifth leading the orchestra, centers on a season-long focus titled “Brahms Revealed,” which will include performances of all four symphonies, the piano concertos, the violin concerto, and Ein deutsches Requiem, alongside works that place Brahms in dialogue with composers including Wagner, Bach, and Shostakovich.

Pianist Anna Geniushene will serve as artist-in-residence, appearing in three programs across the season. The orchestra will also present two world premieres, including a new work by Jasmine Arielle Barnes honoring Coretta Scott King’s centennial, and Adam Schoenberg’s Concerto for Body.

The season opens Sept. 16 with violinist Joshua Bell in a special concert conducted by Michael Stern. Other guest artists include violinists Johan Dalene and Veronika Eberle, pianist Sullivan Fortner, and conductor Peter Oundjian, among others.

Former music director Robert Spano returns for two April programs, including the premiere of Schoenberg’s concerto and a program featuring Prokofiev’s Romeo and Juliet suite.

Below is a chronological listing of ASO Classical Series programs and select specials.
