ATLANTA, Georgia— Emory University’s Schwartz Center for Performing Arts announced its 2026-2027 Candler Concert Series this morning, featuring a lineup of prominent classical and jazz artists in the Emerson Concert Hall.
The season includes a return engagement by Grammy Award-winning pianist Yuja Wang, a recital by flutist Jasmine Choi in her Atlanta debut with the series, a performance by the Academy of St. Martin in the Fields with pianist Conrad Tao, and a program by the Aaron Diehl Trio with soprano Mikaela Bennett exploring works associated with André Previn and others.
Chamber music highlights include the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center presenting “American Soundscapes” with pieces by Amy Beach and Bernard Herrmann; the Green Room Ensemble in the U.S. premiere of Eleanor Alberga’s String Quartet Cycle, joined by the composer for the world premiere of her Second Piano Quintet; and a collaboration by violinist Tessa Lark, cellist Joshua Roman and bassist Edgar Meyer featuring Meyer’s bluegrass-inspired arrangements centered on Bach’s Sonata for Viola da Gamba in G Major.
The annual Emory Jazz Fest returns as part of the Schwartz Artist-in-Residence program, with the Gary Motley Trio, the Emory Big Band, master classes, demonstrations, and a yet-to-be-announced guest artist.
The eight-concert subscription package and a build-your-own option, drawing from the Candler Concert Series and Artist-in-Residence offerings, are available for order now. Single tickets for all concerts go on sale Monday, Aug. 3.
Additional single-ticket events include the dance program “The Play” by choreographer Jeanine Durning and the Emory Choirs’ traditional “A Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols.”
All performances take place at the Schwartz Center for Performing Arts, Emerson Concert Hall, 1700 N. Decatur Rd., Atlanta. Tickets and information are available at schwartz.emory.edu or by calling the box office at (404) 727-5050.
The Candler Concert Series, supported by a gift from the late Flora Glenn Candler, presents internationally recognized artists across musical genres at the center, which opened in 2003. The venue is named in recognition of support from Donna and Marvin Schwartz and continues the university’s performing arts tradition dating to 1968. ■
