Atlanta Symphony Orchestra updates cancellations, postponements and rescheduled events

ATLANTA, GA— The Atlanta Symphony Orchestra released an updated list of cancelled, postpones and rescheduled concerts and events on Tursday evening, impacting the presentation schedules of both the Orchestra and the Symphony Hall LIVE series. In the e-mailed release, the ASO stated plainly its rationale for the extended adjustments:

The Atlanta Symphony Orchestra (ASO) continues to closely monitor the recent outbreak of coronavirus (COVID-19) as well as the proactive approach taken by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), the State of Georgia and the City of Atlanta in aggressively addressing the spread of the virus. Given the fluidity of events and the rapidly changing landscape, the ASO has cancelled or postponed all Orchestra performances and activities through Sunday, April 12. Atlanta Symphony Hall LIVE events are being evaluated on a case-by-case basis.

This decision is being made out of an abundance of caution for the ASO patrons, staff and musicians in light of the guidance of the CDC regarding “social distancing” and the elimination of large gatherings.

The Atlanta Symphony Orchestra will provide additional updates as they become available and appreciate the outpouring of support from the Atlanta community as we navigate this unchartered territory.
