Nathan Nabb named director of KSU’s Bailey School of Music

KENNESAW, Georgia— Dr. Nathan Nabb has been appointed as the new Director of the Bailey School of Music at Kennesaw State University, effective July 1, according to an announcement from Prof. Valerie B. Morris, interim dean of the College of the Arts at the university.

Formerly the Director of the School of Music at Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, Texas, Dr. Nabb joins KSU with extensive experience in music education and performance. He has previously taught at institutions including Chongqing Normal University, the Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music, Morehead State University, and the University of Illinois. Dr. Nabb has also conducted clinics at prestigious programs in North America, Europe, and Asia. His students have garnered recognition in solo and chamber music competitions and have become successful performers and educators.

A highly respected saxophonist, Dr. Nabb performs as a soloist and clinician at significant events worldwide. His appearances include the World Saxophone Congress, North American Saxophone Alliance, and Navy Band Saxophone Symposium. He has also performed at renowned music schools and saxophone studios across the United States, France, Taiwan, Japan, Spain, Greece, Norway, Canada, and China.

Dr. Nabb’s diverse concert schedule features solo, chamber, and orchestral performances. It has included concerto appearances with the St. Louis and Houston Symphonies and tours in Europe, with concerts at venues such as the BBC Proms, Berlin Philharmonie, Elbphilharmonie, Salle Pleyel, Vienna Konzerthaus, and the Auditorium Parco della Musica Ennio Morricone.

The Dr. Bobbie Bailey School of Music at Kennesaw State University is comprised of over 250 music students and over 80 faculty members and professional staff devoted to the development of music education, performance, and scholarship.
