ATLANTA, Georgia— SoundNOW, Atlanta’s annual contemporary music festival, will return Jan. 24 through Feb. 1, marking its ninth year of presenting new music by local and regional performers.
Spanning seven nights, the 2026 festival will feature performances by 10 ensembles, offering programs that range from chamber works and improvisation to larger-scale chamber orchestra pieces. Most concerts will take place at the Florence Kopleff Recital Hall at Georgia State University in downtown Atlanta.
Additional events are scheduled for Jan. 24 at the Bradley Planetarium at Agnes Scott College and Jan. 25 at Core Dance Studio, both locations in Decatur.
Four ensembles will make their SoundNOW debuts this year: the Atlanta Contemporary Music Collective, Ayres & Graces, the Hera Trio, and the Kruziki + Toulouse Duo.
They will appear alongside returning participants, including the Atlanta Contemporary Ensemble, Bent Frequency, Chamber Cartel, Majid Araim, neoPhonia New Music Ensemble, smol ensemble, the Scibelli Duo, and Terminus Ensemble.
Founded in 2017, SoundNOW is the only festival in Atlanta devoted exclusively to contemporary concert music. The event is organized by a committee of local musicians and arts administrators.
